Salute to Bhausaheb

On the occasion of 120th birth anniversary of the first agriculture minister of India Dr. Bhausaheb Panjabrao Deshmukh, my hearty salute to his work for emancipation of Bahujan community in Vidarbha. He was influenced by the philosophy of Mahatma Jotirao Phule and he started his social work as an activist of Satyashodhak Samaj. He did satyagraha for entry of untouchables to Ambabai Temple, Amravati, in the year of 1928, which was very strongly condemned by the upper castes. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar supported him in this movement. For the welfare of marginalized community in rural India he started educational institutions because he knew that prosperity would come only when the weapon of knowledge became available to all. He also founded 'All India Dalit Sangha' for upliftment of DalitBahujan community.
